Hidden leaks found fast, without tearing up your home

Thermal imaging, acoustic sensors and pressure testing locate the exact source of a leak, behind a wall, under a slab, or in a fitting, before we repair it properly.

Most leaks don't announce themselves

Water can travel a long way from where it’s actually escaping before it shows up as a stain, a damp patch, or a jump in your water bill.

Digging up the yard or knocking a hole in the wrong wall wastes time and money, so we start with detection methods that don’t damage anything.

How we find a leak without guessing

Three detection methods, used together, usually mean we can tell you roughly where a leak is before we open anything up.

Thermal imaging

A thermal camera picks up temperature differences you can’t see with the naked eye. Water escaping behind a wall or under a floor shows up as a cooler patch.

Acoustic sensors

These pick up the sound water makes moving through a pressurised pipe, even through concrete or plasterboard, letting us narrow down the leak’s location along the pipe run.

Pressure testing

Where a leak is harder to pin down, we isolate sections of your plumbing and watch where the pressure drops to confirm exactly which section is affected.

Signs you might have a hidden leak

A leak isn’t always a puddle under the sink. Some of the more common signs we get called out for

Any one of these on its own isn’t proof of a leak, but if something on this list has been nagging at you, it’s worth getting checked before it turns into a bigger repair.

A water bill that's crept up without any change in how you're using water.
Damp patches, bubbling paint, or watermarks on a wall or ceiling.
A musty smell in one part of the house that doesn't go away.
The sound of running water when every tap in the house is off.
Mould returning to the same spot no matter how often it's cleaned.
Warped or lifting flooring, especially timber or laminate.
Water pressure that's dropped without an obvious reason.

What happens once we've found it

Finding the leak is only half the job. Once we know exactly where it is, we’ll walk you through what’s actually involved in fixing it and what it’s likely to cost, before we start any repair work.

Depending on what we find, that might mean replacing a short section of damaged pipe, fixing a failed fitting, or a more involved repair if corrosion or old pipework is the underlying cause.

We’d rather spend the extra time confirming the source than guess and end up back at your place a week later for the same problem.

Straightforward pricing

We don’t like surprise invoices any more than you do. Some leak detection jobs carry a call-out fee, particularly where thermal imaging or extended testing is needed, but we’ll always talk you through the likely cost before we start work, not after.

If the job turns out to be more involved once we’re on site, we’ll tell you and get the go-ahead before continuing.

Frequently asked questions

We start with thermal imaging, acoustic sensors, and pressure testing, all of which locate a leak without any demolition. In most cases we can narrow down the exact spot before we ever need to open anything up, which keeps the repair smaller and the cost down.

It depends on the size of the property and how straightforward the leak is to trace. Some jobs carry a call-out fee, especially where thermal imaging is needed, but we'll always confirm the cost with you upfront, before any work begins.

The most common ones are a rising water bill with no change in usage, damp patches or watermarks on walls and ceilings, a musty smell that won't shift, or the sound of running water when every tap is off. If you notice any of these, it's worth having it checked.

Yes. Once we've located the leak, we'll explain what the repair involves and what it costs, then carry out the fix. For anything more involved than a simple patch, that can extend into full Pipe Repairs work.
