Tightening a dripping tap harder doesn’t fix it, it just wears the seat underneath faster. The real problem is a worn part inside the tap: a hardened washer in older compression taps, or a scratched, clogged ceramic disc cartridge in newer mixer taps.
A toilet that keeps running is almost always the inlet valve or outlet flapper failing to seal inside the cistern, sometimes so quietly you only notice it on the water bill.
We open the fixture up, work out which part has actually failed, and replace that part rather than the whole fixture where that’s the sensible fix.
The situations we’re called out for most across Sydney.
Dripping taps, stiff or hard-to-turn handles, leaking tap handles, mixer and single-lever taps, outdoor garden taps, and leaks where the tap connects under the sink. If the tap body is too corroded or old for parts, we’ll quote a replacement upfront instead of patching it.
Running toilets, weak or incomplete flushes, rocking or loose toilets, cracked cisterns and pans, faulty dual-flush buttons, and full toilet suite replacements where a repair genuinely isn’t worth doing anymore.
If a fix doesn’t hold or your water bill keeps climbing for no obvious reason, we check further using the same thermal imaging, acoustic sensors and pressure testing behind our leak detection work. A tap or toilet actively flooding a bathroom or laundry goes straight to our emergency plumbing line, not a routine booking.
We carry out toilet and tap repairs across Sydney, Sutherland Shire, Hurstville, Bayside and Georges River. Not sure if your suburb’s included? Give us a call and we’ll let you know.
