A renovation is two plumbing jobs, weeks apart

A renovation isn’t one plumbing job, it’s two, done weeks apart. The first happens early, while the room is stripped back to studs and slab. The second happens near the end, once the tiler and cabinet maker have finished their work.

Get the first stage wrong and you won’t find out until the second, by which point the tiles are down and fixing it means pulling them back up.

What renovation plumbing involves

Two stages, done weeks apart, plus the kitchen’s own set of connections.

Rough-in

New water and drainage lines run to match your renovation plan, positioned exactly where each new fixture will sit, then pressure tested before anything gets covered.

Fit-off

Toilet, vanity, shower mixer, bath, tapware and freestanding fixtures connected once tiling and cabinetry are finished, then tested under normal water pressure.

Kitchen connections

Sink and mixer tap, dishwasher water supply and a properly trapped waste connection, and a water filtration tap if you’re adding one.

One quote, coordinated with your other trades

Most renovation delays come from trades not talking to each other. We coordinate directly with your builder or project manager so the rough-in lands at the right point in the build sequence, and fit-off doesn’t get held up waiting on us, or held up by us waiting on someone else.

Renovation plumbing gets scoped as one job covering rough-in and fit-off together, so you get a single quote rather than two separate guesses along the way.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Any work connecting to or moving water and drainage lines legally needs a licensed plumber, and most builders will require it before they sign off the job.

Both. We come in first for the rough-in, before the waterproofing and tiling go down. We come back for fit-off after the tiling and cabinetry are finished.

Yes, that's a normal part of a renovation. It's easier and cheaper to plan this early than to change it once tiling has started.

It depends on the scope: how many fixtures are moving, whether you're adding a second basin or a dishwasher line, and the size of the room. We look at your plans and give you a fixed quote upfront.
