The Sutherland Shire is one of Sydney’s more established residential areas. Cronulla and Miranda mix older beachside homes and units with newer builds, while Sutherland and Menai carry decades of family housing.
A lot of that stock was plumbed before today’s materials and standards existed: galvanised pipe that corrodes from the inside, earthenware sewer lines that crack and let tree roots in. Neither shows up until you’ve got low pressure, a slow drain, or water somewhere it shouldn’t be.
The issues we see most often in Cronulla, Miranda, Sutherland and Menai homes.
Established gardens and street trees mean roots find their way into old clay pipe. We clear it with high-pressure jet blasting, and use thermal imaging, acoustic sensors and pressure testing to find slab or garden leaks before we dig anything up.
Homes closer to the water, Cronulla especially, see salt air corrode outdoor taps and hot water units faster than further inland, so it’s worth checking before a small leak becomes a bigger repair.
Hot water system repairs and replacements, gas fitting and repairs, toilet and tap repairs, and water pressure problems that often trace back to corroded old pipe.
Some jobs may carry a call-out fee, but we always discuss costs upfront so there are no hidden surprises once we’re on site. Unsure if your job needs one? Call and we’ll talk you through it first.
Plenty of the plumbing work we do across the Shire is for tenants, landlords, property managers and strata committees, not just owner-occupiers. We’re used to working within that process: sorting access, getting sign-off, and reporting back to whoever’s managing the property.

We cover Cronulla, Miranda, Sutherland, Menai and the suburbs around them, plus Sydney, Hurstville, Bayside and Georges River. If you’re not sure whether your street is included, give us a call and we’ll confirm.
